Dr. George Hatzigiannis is a longtime Massachusetts dental surgeon with a focus on oral and maxillofacial (OMFS) procedures. Attending Harvard College, he completed his BA in biology cum laude in 1994 and subsequently pursued a doctorate at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine. Dr. George Hatzigiannis also completed medical school at the University of Connecticut in Farmington. From 2001 to 2007, he completed residency at the University of Connecticut in oral & maxillofacial surgery, including two years of general surgery, and also functioning as chief resident.
Dr. Hatzigiannis has practiced in numerous locations in the greater Boston area, including Peabody, Lynn, Worcester, and Lawrence. His most recent work focused on meeting the dental needs of patients in underserved neighborhoods. He has also lectured extensively in areas such as craniomaxillofacial surgery and bone grafting in OMFS treatment.
Dr. Hatzigiannis’ qualifications include several scholarly articles, including Attachment Of Periosteal Grafts to Articular Cartilage with Fibrin Sealant (Journal of Biomedical Materials
Research, 1999). In his free time, Dr. George Hatzigiannis enjoys activities such as travel and spending quality moments with his family.

Dr. George Hatzigiannis is a licensed oral and maxillofacial surgeon holding additional certifications in basic and advanced cardiac life support. A graduate of the Harvard School of Dental Medicine, Dr. George Hatzigiannis supplements his doctor of medicine in dentistry with a doctor of medicine degree from the University of Connecticut, where he also completed a residency in general surgery at the UConn Health Center. He further specialized his skills in oral and maxillofacial surgery (OMFS) during this time, departing UConn Health Center with a Certificate of OMFS in 2007.
Dr. Hatzigiannis launched his career as a private practitioner at Salem Peabody Oral Surgery in Massachusetts, and he continues to operate a private practice serving the Boston area. In addition, he treated patients as an oral and maxillofacial surgeon at Small Smiles Dental Centers, which provides affordable dental care to underserved youth.
Dedicated to professional development, Dr. George Hatzigiannis has made significant contributions to medical academia. In addition to lecturing on topics such as bone grafting and cone beam technology, he has submitted case studies and research findings for print in the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, among other publications.
Dr. George Hatzigiannis is a respected Massachusetts oral surgeon with experience treating patients for a wide range of conditions. He practiced with Salem Peabody Oral Surgery in Peabody for four years where he maintained a strong community focus. Along with his fellow dentists, Dr. George Hatzigiannis offered a day of Dentistry With A Heart, which involved treating 122 total patients.
Next engaging as a dentist at Small Smiles Dental Centers, Dr. Hatzigiannis provided services that included dental implant rehabilitation and facial trauma care for the underserved. He continued to emphasize the treatment of community members in need through MassHealth.
Dr. Hatzigiannis earned his bachelor’s at Harvard College cum laude and pursued his doctor of medicine in dentistry at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine. He subsequently pursued advanced dentistry studies at the University of Connecticut and completed a residency at the UConn Health Center. Dr. George Hatzigiannis is of Greek heritage and maintains a focus on the Orthodox faith in his daily life.
